Pollen Count & Forecast for Córdoba
About Pollen in Córdoba
Córdoba’s spring allergy season (September–November) is dominated by Ash and Plane pollen; European Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) is common in Parque Sarmiento; London Plane (Platanus x acerifolia) is widespread across city avenues and Plaza San Martín. Arizona Cypress (Cupressus arizonica) contributes significantly from the Sierras Chicas foothills. Summer (December–February) sees high Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels, originating from the Suquía River banks and agricultural fields.
Dry north winds and the basin topography trap pollen; this leads to high concentrations across the urban center. Autumn and winter see elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts; these are from leaf litter in parklands and damp river environments.
