Pollen Count & Forecast for Baku
About Pollen in Baku
Baku’s spring allergy season (March-May) is dominated by Pine and Cypress pollen; Pine (Pinus) is prolific in Highland Park and along Baku Boulevard; Cypress (Cupressus) is common in Central Park. Summer (June-August) sees high Grass (Poaceae) and Wormwood (Artemisia) levels, originating from the semi-arid slopes of the Absheron Peninsula and Yasamal hills.
Strong “Khazri” north winds transport dust and pollen across the Caspian coast; the arid climate keeps particles airborne for long periods. Autumn and winter see elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts, from damp seaside structures and decaying vegetation near the Shirvanshah gardens.
