Pollen Count & Forecast for Dalian

Dalian’s spring (March-May) is dominated by Pine and Poplar pollen; Chinese Pine (Pinus tabuliformis) common in Labor Park and along Binhai Road; Poplar (Populus) widespread near the Malan River. Willow (Salix) contributes from across the city. Late summer (August-September) sees high Mugwort (Artemisia) and Ragweed (Ambrosia) pollen levels, originating from the Lushun hills and open outskirts.

Hilly terrain and coastal winds trap pollen against city slopes; sea breezes move particles toward the urban center. Summer and autumn see elevated Mould (Aspergillus, Penicillium) spore counts, from decomposing organic matter in Fujiazhuang Park and damp coastal forests.
