About Pollen in Hong Kong
Hong Kong’s spring allergy season (February–May) is dominated by Horsetail Tree and Acacia pollen; Horsetail Tree (Casuarina) prolific in Victoria Park and along Tuen Mun River; Taiwan Acacia (Acacia confusa) widespread on hillsides in Shing Mun Country Park. Paper Bark Tree (Melaleuca quinquenervia) is common along city roadsides. Summer and autumn (June–October) see high Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon) levels, originating from Kowloon Park and grassy areas near Lion Rock.
