Pollen Count & Forecast for Tampere

Tampere’s spring allergy season (April-June) is dominated by Birch and Alder pollen; Birch (Betula) prolific in Pyynikki forest and Kauppi parklands; Alder (Alnus) widespread along the Tammerkoski rapids and lakeshores. Pine (Pinus) contributes significantly from forests surrounding the city. Summer (June-August) sees high Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels, originating from Hatanpää Arboretum and suburban meadows.

The ridge at Pyynikki and urban street canyons can trap pollen, leading to localised high concentrations. Autumn and winter see elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts, from decomposing leaf litter in dense forests and damp lakeshore environments.
