About Pollen in Lille

Lille’s spring allergy season (March-May) has high Birch (Betula) and Ash (Fraxinus) pollen levels; Birch is found in Jardin Vauban; Ash is common along the Deûle River. Oak (Quercus) contributes from Parc de la Citadelle. Summer (May-July) sees elevated Grass (Poaceae) pollen; originating from Parc de la Citadelle and surrounding agricultural fields.

Urban street layouts and historic architecture can trap pollen, leading to localised high concentrations. Autumn and winter have elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts, from damp canal banks and decomposing leaf litter in city parks.
