About Pollen in Strasbourg

Strasbourg’s spring allergy season (March-May) has high Birch (Betula) and Ash (Fraxinus) levels; Birch is common in the Robertsau Forest and Parc de l’Orangerie; London Plane (Platanus x acerifolia) is widespread along the Quai Kléber. Summer (May-July) sees high Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels; this is from the Jardin des Deux Rives and along the Ill River riverbanks.

Rhine Valley topography is prone to stagnant air; this traps pollen against the Vosges foothills. Autumn and winter have high Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts; these are from decaying leaf litter in the Parc de la Citadelle and damp Rhine forest environments.
