Pollen Count & Forecast for Goa
About Pollen in Goa
Goa’s dry season (December-May) has high pollen levels; Cashew (Anacardium occidentale) prolific in the hills of Sattari and Bicholim; Mango (Mangifera indica) widespread in orchards across Ponda. Coconut (Cocos nucifera) pollen is constant along the Mandovi River. Monsoon months (June-September) see high Grass (Poaceae) levels near the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park.
Humid coastal air and the Sahyadri foothills trap allergens; sea breezes carry pollen inland toward the dense forests. Year-round moisture leads to high Mould (Aspergillus, Penicillium) spore counts, from decomposing leaf litter in the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary and during the heavy monsoon rains.
