Pollen Count & Forecast for New Delhi
About Pollen in New Delhi
New Delhi’s spring season (February-April) is dominated by Vilayati Kikar and Mulberry pollen; Vilayati Kikar (Prosopis juliflora) prolific across the Delhi Ridge; Mulberry (Morus alba) and Neem (Azadirachta indica) common in Lodhi Gardens and Nehru Park. The monsoon (July-September) sees high Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon) and Congress Grass (Parthenium hysterophorus) levels, originating from Yamuna River floodplains.
Dust storms and high humidity trap pollen near ground level, leading to localised high concentrations. Winter and monsoon months see elevated Mould (Aspergillus, Cladosporium) spore counts, from damp environments near the Yamuna and decaying leaf litter in the Southern Ridge.
