Pollen Count & Forecast for Jakarta
About Pollen in Jakarta
Jakarta’s dry season (May–September) is dominated by Acacia (Acacia) and Mango (Mangifera indica) pollen; Acacia is common around Medan Merdeka; Mango trees are widespread in residential gardens throughout Menteng. Banyan (Ficus benjamina) is a year-round allergen source in Suropati Park and Ragunan Zoo. Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels are highest in drier months, originating from the Ciliwung River banks.
High humidity and heavy traffic can trap particulates, leading to localised high concentrations in the city center. The wet season (October–April) sees elevated Mould (Aspergillus, Penicillium) spore counts, from damp building interiors and organic waste near the Pluit Reservoir.
