Pollen Count & Forecast for Tehran
About Pollen in Tehran
Tehran’s spring allergy season (March-May) is dominated by Plane and Walnut pollen; Oriental Plane (Platanus orientalis) prolific along Valiasr Street and Mellat Park; Walnut (Juglans regia) common in northern districts. Ash (Fraxinus) contributes significantly from Laleh Park and the Alborz foothills. Summer (June-August) sees high Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels, originating from the Kan River banks and Chitgar Forest Park.
The Alborz Mountains and city basin can trap pollen, leading to localised high concentrations. Autumn and winter see elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts, from decomposing leaf litter in Jamshidieh Park and damp northern districts.
