Pollen Count & Forecast for Amman
About Pollen in Amman
Amman’s spring allergy season (March-May) is dominated by Olive and Pine pollen; Olive (Olea europaea) common on the slopes of Jabal Amman and Jabal Al-Lweibdeh; Aleppo Pine (Pinus halepensis) widespread in King Hussein Park. Palestine Oak (Quercus calliprinos) contributes from larger forest areas near Amman National Park. Late spring (May-June) has high Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels, originating from Al-Hussein Public Parks and along western valley slopes.
The city’s seven hills and dry air can trap pollen, leading to localised high concentrations. Autumn and winter have elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts, from shaded garden pockets and damp stone architecture after seasonal rain.
