Pollen Count & Forecast for Rabat

Rabat’s spring allergy season (March–June) is dominated by Olive (Olea europaea) and Cork Oak (Quercus suber) pollen; Olive is prolific around the Chellah ruins; Cork Oak is dense in the Maâmora Forest. Grass (Poaceae) and Parietaria (Parietaria judaica) are widespread along the Bou Regreg riverbanks and Jardin d’Essais Botaniques. Summer (June–August) sees high grass pollen levels; dry inland winds carry grains across urban areas.

Coastal humidity and Atlantic sea breezes influence pollen dispersal. Autumn and winter see elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts; these originate from moisture in damp Medina alleyways and marshy Bou Regreg banks.
