Pollen Count & Forecast for Eindhoven
About Pollen in Eindhoven
Eindhoven’s spring allergy season (March-May) is dominated by Silver Birch and Alder; Silver Birch (Betula pendula) is common in Stadswandelpark and Philips de Jongh Wandelpark; Alder (Alnus glutinosa) grows along the Dommel riverbanks. Oak (Quercus robur) counts rise in Genneper Parken during late spring. Summer (May-July) brings high Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels; sources include the meadows of Stratumse Heide and fields near the High Tech Campus.
Flat terrain and proximity to surrounding Kempen forests allow wind-borne pollen to reach the city center; urban density can trap these particles. Autumn and winter have elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts; these come from decomposing leaf litter in parklands and damp conditions within the Dommel valley.
