Pollen Count & Forecast for Bergen
About Pollen in Bergen
Bergen’s spring allergy season (April–June) is dominated by Birch and Hazel; Birch (Betula) prolific on Mount Fløyen and Mount Ulriken slopes; Hazel (Corylus) widespread in Nygårdsparken. Alder (Alnus) and Willow (Salix) contribute significantly near Store Lungegårdsvannet. Summer (June–August) sees high Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels, originating from meadows in the hills and fields around Fana.
Steep mountain walls can trap pollen, leading to localised high concentrations. Autumn and winter see elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) counts, from decaying foliage in Byparken and damp coastal city environments.
