Pollen Count & Forecast for Lahore
About Pollen in Lahore
Lahore’s spring allergy season (February–April) is dominated by Paper Mulberry and Cannabis pollen; Paper Mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera) prolific in Bagh-e-Jinnah; Cannabis (Cannabis sativa) widespread along canal roads and urban lots. Sheesham (Dalbergia sissoo) contributes significantly from Jillani Park. Summer (July–September) sees high Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels, originating from the banks of the Ravi River.
Temperature inversions and heavy smog trap pollen; the flat Punjab plains have few barriers to wind-dispersed allergens. Winter months see elevated Mould (Alternaria, Aspergillus) spore counts, from damp soil near the Lahore Canal and within dense residential gardens.
