Pollen Count & Forecast for Manila
About Pollen in Manila
Manila’s dry season (January–May) is dominated by Mango and Narra pollen; Mango (Mangifera indica) prolific in residential gardens; Narra (Pterocarpus indicus) widespread across Rizal Park and Arroceros Forest Park. Acacia (Samanea saman) contributes significantly from urban roadsides. The rainy season (June–October) sees high Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon) and Cogon Grass (Imperata cylindrica) levels, originating from Mehan Garden and along Pasig River banks.
Urban street canyons and dense housing can trap air pollutants and allergens near the ground. The wet season sees elevated Mould (Aspergillus, Penicillium) spore counts, from decaying organic matter in coastal districts and damp building materials. Tropical heat increases spore production in congested residential zones.
