Pollen Count & Forecast for Bratislava
About Pollen in Bratislava
Bratislava’s spring allergy season (March-May) is dominated by Birch and Hazel pollen; Birch (Betula) prolific in Horský Park and the Little Carpathians foothills; Hazel (Corylus) widespread in city gardens. Alder (Alnus) grows along Danube riverbanks. Summer (May-July) sees high Grass (Poaceae) levels, originating from Petržalka meadows and Sad Janka Kráľa. Late summer sees Ragweed (Ambrosia) and Mugwort (Artemisia) from the Danubian Lowland.
The Little Carpathians hills trap pollen over the city during northern winds. Autumn has high Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts; these come from leaf litter in Železná studnička and damp areas near the Morava confluence.
