Pollen Count & Forecast for Daegu
About Pollen in Daegu
Daegu’s spring allergy season (March-May) is dominated by Oak and Pine pollen; Oak (Quercus) is dense on Palgongsan Mountain and Apsan Park; Pine (Pinus) is common along the Sincheon Stream. Late summer and autumn (August-October) see high levels of Japanese Hop (Humulus japonicus) and Mugwort (Artemisia); these weeds grow along the Geumho River banks and in Duryu Park.
The surrounding mountain basin traps allergens; high summer temperatures in the valley increase pollen concentration. Autumn and winter have high Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts; these originate from leaf litter in the Daegu Arboretum and shaded forest trails.
