About Pollen in Incheon

Incheon’s spring season (March-May) is dominated by Oak and Pine pollen; Oak (Quercus) dense around Gyeyang Mountain and Incheon Grand Park; Pine (Pinus) frequent across northern hills. Birch (Betula) contributes to counts in early spring. Summer (May-July) sees high Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels; late summer has Mugwort (Artemisia) and Ragweed (Ambrosia) from Sorae Marsh Ecological Park.

Coastal winds from the Yellow Sea push pollen inland; slopes on Manisan Mountain trap air in urban valleys. Autumn and winter see elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts, from decomposing leaf litter in city parks and damp coastal environments.
