Pollen Count & Forecast for Córdoba
About Pollen in Córdoba
Córdoba’s spring allergy season (March–June) is dominated by Olive and Oak pollen; Olive (Olea europaea) dense across the Guadalquivir valley; Holm Oak (Quercus ilex) common in the Sierra Morena mountains. Grass (Poaceae) peaks in May, originating from the Guadalquivir riverbanks and the Parque de la Asomadilla. Winter (January–March) sees high Cypress (Cupressaceae) counts; these are widespread in the Jardines de la Victoria.
Dry winds carry pollen from olive groves into the city; the Sierra Morena hills trap air masses over the urban basin. Summer heat reduces pollen levels. Autumn and winter see higher Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) levels; spores increase near the damp river corridor and within the Jardines del Alcázar.
