Pollen Count & Forecast for Palma
About Pollen in Palma
Palma’s spring allergy season (February–May) is dominated by Cypress and Pine pollen; Mediterranean Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens) prolific near Palma Cathedral and Bellver Forest; Aleppo Pine (Pinus halepensis) widespread across the Serra de Tramuntana. Olive (Olea europaea) contributes significantly from rural groves. Summer (May–August) sees high Pellitory-of-the-wall (Parietaria judaica) and Grass (Poaceae) pollen levels, originating from Torrent de sa Riera and Parc de la Mar.
Coastal winds from the Bay of Palma move maritime humidity; narrow streets in the Old Town trap pollen and particles. Autumn and winter see elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts, from damp crevices and moist leaf litter in Jardins de S’Hort del Rei.
