Pollen Count & Forecast for Phuket
About Pollen in Phuket
Phuket’s dry season (December-March) is dominated by grass and tree pollen; Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon) prolific near Bang Pae Waterfall and Kathu; Casuarina (Casuarina equisetifolia) widespread along Bang Tao Beach and Sirinat National Park. Mango (Mangifera indica) contributes to pollen levels in the hills near the Big Buddha. The early monsoon (April-June) has high Para Grass (Urochloa mutica) levels, originating from fields in Thalang.
High humidity and onshore winds trap allergens against the central hills. The monsoon season (May-October) has elevated Mould (Aspergillus, Penicillium) spore counts, from decomposing leaf litter in Khao Phra Thaeo National Park and damp urban environments.
