Pollen Count & Forecast for Dubai
About Pollen in Dubai
Dubai’s primary allergy season (February-April) is dominated by Date Palm and Ghaf pollen; Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera) numerous in Safa Park and Zabeel Park; Ghaf (Prosopis cineraria) widespread in Mushrif Park and the surrounding desert. Saltbush (Amaranthaceae) contributes significantly from the open desert dunes. Summer (June-September) sees high Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon) pollen levels, originating from Al Mamzar Beach Park and city golf courses.
Coastal humidity and dense skyscraper corridors can trap pollen, leading to localised high concentrations. Summer and autumn see elevated Mould (Alternaria, Cladosporium) spore counts, from heavy air conditioning use and humid environments near Dubai Creek.
