About Pollen in Enfield

Enfield’s spring allergens (March-May) are predominantly Birch and Oak pollen, originating from mature trees abundant in Trent Park, Grovelands Park, and residential areas; Plane tree pollen also contributes. Summer (May-July) brings peak Grass pollen from extensive parkland meadows and River Lea floodplains.

Local urban green spaces and tree-lined streets trap and concentrate pollen levels within the borough. Late autumn and winter introduce elevated Mould spores, driven by damp conditions and decomposing leaf litter in shaded parklands and along the River Lea Valley.
